Southern Gothic
Liminal Space ~ I’ve always had a love for the darkness that is the southern gothic genre, from True Detective, to the band Woven hand, Johnny Cash, The Handsome Family, Nick Cave, 16 Horse power and Ethel Cain, the rustic raw south and its moody religious tones, I wanted to create a scent that reminiscent of the genre, it’s dark moodiness & to be lost in gothic surrealism…..what is the scent??? Portals Perfume
𝕻𝖔𝖗𝖙𝖆𝖑𝖘 | The creation of portals; I wanted it to be the scent of another realm, the underworld, Passageways & Crossroads, the scent Hecate herself may have worn. Incense…smoke from her torches, Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) the witches herb, its spicy resinous olfactory smell reminiscent of the night from where she ruled. The Birth of Scent offerings
When I decided to go on this journey, I didn't intend to make perfumes, they weren't really in my vision, but It was an organic decision. I initially had just Homewares, Candles and Wax creations in mind, with a few quirky gothic accessories for the home (Some I still offer) but I knew at some point I'd just want to focus on my own products.
